Hi all, I’m back with some more fitness advice that’s going to leave you excited to get to your next workout!
How do we lose body fat fast ?
We all see people at the gym doing endless amounts of cardio, slaving themselves on those treadmills, using those resistance bands and doing all sorts of CRAZY stuff with those weights. Not only that, but they spend HOURS in the gym, always doing the same, mundane workouts AGAIN, and AGAIN and AGAIN.
But if they are at the gym for hours, using weights, resistance bands, treadmills and all those thingamajigies, they should be the fittest people ever, shouldn’t they?!?!
The answer is NO!
Take a look at your gym, and take a look at the people on the treadmills and bikes.
Now take a look at athletes. Footballers, tennis stars, sprinters…
Who do YOU want to look like?
The KEY to attaining a toned, slender, stellar physique is to TRAIN like an athlete to LOOK like an athlete.
So how do athletes train?
Short bursts of INTENSE cardio.
So basically, long hours on the treadmill is the OPPOSITE of what you should be doing.
You need to be doing SHORT, INTENSE bursts of cardio. Therefore, we NEVER train for more than 1 hour at any point of time. Training for long hours will have the OPPOSITE effect that you want for your body: You will end up losing sugars in your blood, rather than fat stores, leading to shrinkage of muscles, which would therefore not only make you look untoned, but will lead to a decrease in metabolism, leading to less fat being burned throughout the day!
And we don’t want that!
That is why people who train for long hours on the elliptical machines, or do weights for more than an hour at any point of time don’t have the best ideal physiques out there.
Remember, it’s the QUALITY of your workout that’s most important NOT the QUANTITY.
So what can we do to lose body fat? And faaaaaaaaaasst?
That’s the answer we all want to know. Losing body fat is detrimental in order for us to really see that tone, definition, in our body, and also to see those six pack abs!
So like we said earlier, SHORT INTENSE BURSTS OF CARDIO.
Therefore, to lose body fat FAST, train like an athlete with jumps, sprints and athlete style training!
Here is an example of a workout you can do, which is what sprinters do (and think of those amazing sprinter legs….. we definitely want those! 😉 )
1) Start with feet on the floor. Start of with a small step (you can use stairs). Swing your arms and use your momentum to jump on the step.
2) Step down and repeat. Go for 30 seconds, rest for 10 seconds.
1) Start with right leg on the floor, left leg back (think like a skier). Hop to the other side landing on your left leg, right leg behind.
2) Go for 30 seconds, rest for 10 seconds.
1) Bend down, jump out into a plank position. Add a push up for advanced.
2) Jump back to your hands, stand up and add a jump (tuck jump for advanced).
3) Go for 30 seconds, 10 seconds rest.
1) Gage a distance at which you’re comfortable. Or, you can use a treadmill with an incline.
2) Sprint at your fastest pace possible, go for 30 seconds, rest for 10 seconds.
Repeat this circuit 2-3 times, or as many as you can go. Remember, go as HARD AS YOU CAN! NO STOPPING!
Doing these workouts will not only help you add to your muscle and speed, they will help you to define your glutes, hamstrings and quads while at the same time burning off the FAT LAYERS that hide the muscles underneath.
Also, due to the high intensity of these workouts, your body will expend an even GREATER amount of calories throughout the day in order to repair itself after the hard work you just went through!
Therefore, GREATER NUMBER OF CALORIES BURNT OVERALL!
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how we burn body fat fast 😉
